Audit Assistant Manager – About The Role
This position sits between Senior and Manager level, giving you the opportunity to take on greater ownership while continuing to work alongside experienced senior colleagues. You will run smaller audits from planning through to completion and become increasingly involved in reviewing work and managing client relationships.
For larger assignments, you will work with Managers and Partners, gaining exposure to more complex work and developing your technical and leadership skills. As your experience grows, you will be given increasing responsibility with the aim of progressing into a full Manager position.
Key responsibilities:
Take the lead on smaller audit assignments
Work alongside Managers and Partners on larger and more complex engagements
Plan audits and coordinate fieldwork through to completion
Review audit files and ensure compliance with relevant UK accounting standards
Act as a day-to-day contact for audit clients
Supervise and review the work of junior team members
Assist with budgets, planning and assignment scheduling
Keep assignments on track against agreed deadlines
Contribute to maintaining and improving audit quality
Build the experience and client management skills required for progression to Manager
The successful Audit Assistant Manager will have:
ACA or ACCA qualified
Strong UK external audit experience within practice
Experience supervising or reviewing audit work
Good technical knowledge of FRS 102 and UK GAAP
Confident client communication skills
Strong organisational and leadership potential
Ability to manage multiple assignments
Commercial awareness and proactive mindset
Full right to work in the UK
