Description:

Associate Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller
Peterborough | Hybrid Working

An award-winning, global Engineering Consultancy is looking to appoint a Principal or Associate Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller to join its expanding Water team in Peterborough.

With unprecedented levels of investment across the UK water sector and a strong pipeline of long-term framework work, this is an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in delivering major wastewater infrastructure projects that will shape the future of the industry. You'll be joining one of the UK's largest and most respected water engineering teams, working on technically challenging projects alongside specialists across hydraulic modelling, drainage, flooding, digital engineering and environmental services.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the delivery of complex wastewater modelling projects from initial strategy through to solution development. You'll take ownership of major framework programmes, overseeing the development of storm overflow reduction schemes, flood alleviation projects and wider wastewater catchment strategies. Alongside technical leadership, you'll play a key role in mentoring engineers, supporting project delivery teams and helping drive innovation across the business.

You'll be responsible for ensuring technical excellence across project outputs, reviewing modelling work, maintaining quality standards and working closely with clients to develop practical, sustainable engineering solutions. There will also be opportunities to contribute towards bids, framework growth and the continued development of technical capabilities within the wider team.

To be considered, you'll ideally have:

Significant experience in wastewater hydraulic modelling within the UK water sector
Strong knowledge of wastewater networks, catchment planning and solution development
Expertise using InfoWorks ICM and ICM Exchange
Experience leading projects and managing technical delivery
The ability to mentor and develop engineers within a multidisciplinary environment
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Experience with FME, Optimatics, Ruby, Power BI or SharePoint would be advantageous
Chartered status (or working towards) with ICE, CIWEM or an equivalent professional institution would be beneficial
In return, you'll join a Consultancy renowned for investing heavily in its people. From structured mentoring and tailored development plans to genuine opportunities for progression into senior leadership, you'll be supported to shape your career in whichever direction you choose. Flexible and hybrid working, an outstanding benefits package and the opportunity to work on nationally significant water projects all combine to make this a fantastic long-term career move.

Whether you're already operating at Associate level or you're an established Principal looking for the next step, this role offers the chance to influence major infrastructure programmes whilst working within one of the industry's leading Water teams.
