Associate Transport Planner - Cambridge

Location: Cambridge

Emtech Recruitment are currently working with an established Transport Planning consultancy who are looking to appoint an Associate Transport Planner to join their Cambridge team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner looking to take the next step in their career, with the opportunity to combine technical project delivery, team leadership, client management and business development.

The Role

As an Associate, you will play a key role in the continued growth of the business, taking responsibility for project delivery, developing client relationships and supporting the development of the wider team.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and managing a range of transport planning projects.
Managing, mentoring and developing junior team members.
Managing project programmes, budgets, quality and commercial performance.
Preparing and approving fee proposals and monitoring project financial performance.
Developing and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.
Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
Preparing and reviewing technical documentation and infrastructure design work.
Leading negotiations through the planning process and associated legal agreements.
Attending and presenting at stakeholder and consultation meetings.
Representing the business at industry and professional events.
Supporting continuous improvement and innovation across projects and teams.
Deputising for Associate Directors and Directors when required.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Strong experience within a Transport Planning consultancy environment.
Previous experience leading projects and managing project teams.
Experience mentoring and developing junior staff.
Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
Good commercial awareness and an understanding of project profitability.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
A proactive and collaborative approach to leadership.
Professional qualification and active professional membership.
