Associate / Senior Structural Engineer

Leicester
£55,000 - £70,000 + Benefits

An established structural and civil engineering consultancy based in Leicester is looking to appoint an experienced Associate / Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Associate / Senior Structural Engineer who wants to take on greater technical and commercial responsibility while working on a varied portfolio of building structures projects across the Midlands and wider UK.

The Role

As an Associate / Senior Structural Engineer, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of structural engineering projects from concept through to completion.

The Associate / Senior Structural Engineer will work closely with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, technically and commercially.

Key responsibilities will include:

Managing structural engineering projects through all design stages.

Producing and reviewing calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.

Designing in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber.

Attending client and design team meetings.

Coordinating with architects and other engineering disciplines.

Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and technicians.

Assisting with fee proposals, project resourcing and client relationships.

Maintaining high technical and quality standards across projects.

At Associate level, the Associate / Senior Structural Engineer will also contribute to team leadership, business development and the continued growth of their Leicester office.

Required Experience

The successful Associate / Senior Structural Engineer should have:

A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.

Chartered status with the IStructE or ICE, or significant progress towards chartership.

Strong UK consultancy experience within building structures.

Good knowledge of Eurocodes and UK design standards.

Experience delivering structural projects from concept to construction.

Strong client-facing and communication skills.

Previous experience mentoring or managing engineers would be advantageous.
