A leading consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Associate Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join its growing London team.

This is a senior, client-facing position offering the opportunity to take responsibility for the commercial management of major building projects across the UK, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.

The successful candidate will bring strong NEC experience, a background in building projects and a proactive approach to client management. Healthcare experience would be highly desirable.

The Role

As an Associate Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for providing high-quality commercial and quantity surveying services across a range of projects, including:

Leading commercial management and quantity surveying commissions

Providing strategic commercial advice to clients

Managing projects from pre-contract through to completion

Cost planning, estimating and cost reporting

Procurement and tender management

Contract administration and commercial management

Managing variations, change control and commercial risk

Valuations, payment assessments and final accounts

Working extensively with NEC contracts

Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Acting as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders

Travelling to project sites across the UK as required

Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team

Contributing to the continued growth and development of the business

This role would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on, proactive and client-facing, with the confidence to take ownership of projects and build lasting relationships with clients.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager who is ready to operate at Associate level within a consultancy environment.

You should have:

Strong quantity surveying and commercial management experience

Proven experience working with NEC contracts

A solid background in building projects

Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills

Excellent commercial awareness

The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

A proactive, solutions-focused approach

Strong communication and negotiation skills

The confidence to represent the consultancy at senior client level

Healthcare sector experience would be highly desirable

MRICS or equivalent professional qualification would be advantageous
