Job Title: Associate Planning Consultant

Location: Birmingham

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading multidisciplinary who is on the search for an ambitious Associate Planning Consultant to join the Birmingham office.

This is an outstanding opportunity to become part of a highly respected planning team working on nationally significant infrastructure, regeneration and development projects across the UK. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering complex planning projects while helping to grow an established and collaborative team.

Working alongside planners, environmental specialists, engineers and designers, you'll have the opportunity to shape major projects that make a lasting impact on communities and the built environment.

The Role

As an Associate Planning Consultant, you will take a leading role in managing projects, developing client relationships and supporting the continued growth of the planning team.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading planning projects across a variety of sectors including infrastructure and development.
* Managing multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating project delivery.
* Preparing and reviewing planning strategies, reports and planning applications.
* Supporting the preparation of bids, tenders and framework submissions.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
* Mentoring and supporting junior planners within the team.
* Working closely with colleagues across environmental, engineering and design disciplines.
* Identifying opportunities for business development and contributing to future growth.About You

The ideal candidate will have:

A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
* MRTPI status or be working towards chartership.
* Significant consultancy or public sector planning experience.
* Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy.
* Experience with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects.
* An understanding of major infrastructure consenting processes, including the Town and Country Planning Act, Development Consent Orders (DCO), Transport and Works Act Orders (TWAO), or similar planning regimes.
* Excellent project management and organisational skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* The ability to build lasting client relationships and contribute to work-winning activities.
* A collaborative approach and experience working within multidisciplinary teams.What's on Offer
