Our client is currently seeking a Principle or Associate Hydraulic Modeller to join them on a permanent basis.

Their current opening is for an Associate or Principle level Hydraulic Modeller but as the team is growing, we are also open to receiving applications from those aspiring to develop their career and work towards this.

Role info:

Skills / Experience / Qualifications:

·     With a Degree in Civil/Structural/Environmental Engineering or equivalent with post-qualification experience that enables you to manage project delivery and provide leadership within an engineering consultancy.

·    Proven record delivering Flood Alleviation schemes, Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies. Deep knowledge of the regulatory system to ensure that designs and projects comply with relevant laws and regulations.

·    Proficiency in engineering software tools, such as Autocad, ArcGIS and Hydraulic Modelling software (e.g., Infodrainage, Flow, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller)

·    Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

·     Able to communicate effectively with team members, clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.

·    Leadership skills such as mentoring & team building

·    Engage in activities involved in staying up to date with the latest advancements, technologies, and industry trends to provide cutting-edge solutions and maintain your expertise.

·   Demonstrate a high standard of ethics and professionalism is essential in any engineering role. This includes ensuring the safety, reliability, and ethical considerations of your designs and decisions.

·   Ability to work with clients directly or through project managers.

·    Membership with CIWEM or working towards membership of this professional body.

·    Full UK driving license

Tasks that will be required of you:

·   Lead a dedicated team of hydraulic modelers & engineers

·   Establish best practices, driving innovation, and contributing to the success of our projects related to water systems and infrastructure

·   Produce and run 1D/2D hydraulic models, Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Alleviation Schemes and Drainage Strategies on a wide range of schemes

·   Work with the team of Engineers and Technicians to deliver projects that meet client requirements whilst providing technical support to others

·   Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs, and ability to manage expectations

This position is based on a 40 hour week and will be based either from either of two offices in North Yorkshire 2-3 days per week or on site visits with the remainder of the week allowing the option for hybrid working.

We'd welcome applications from candidates who are considering relocation (within the UK) to the area but we are not in a position to offer sponsorship for this role.
