London | £60,000 - £75,000 + Bonus + Benefits | Hybrid Working
I'm currently working with a well-established, independent engineering consultancy who are looking to appoint an Associate Highway Engineer to join their growing London office.
The business has built an excellent reputation for delivering highways, transport and infrastructure projects across London and the South East, working closely with local authorities, developers and multidisciplinary design teams. Due to continued growth and an expanding workload, they're looking for an experienced engineer who can combine technical leadership with client management and project delivery.

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for either an established Associate or an experienced Senior/Principal Highway Engineer looking to step into a leadership position.
You'll play a key role in managing projects, developing client relationships and supporting the growth of the highways team, whilst remaining involved in the technical delivery of a wide variety of schemes.

Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of highways design projects from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
Manage multiple projects, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality standards.
Produce and review technical drawings, calculations, reports and specifications.
Provide technical leadership and mentor Graduate, Engineer and Senior Engineer-level staff.
Liaise with local authorities, developers, architects, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.
Lead client meetings and maintain strong working relationships.
Support fee proposals, resource planning and business development activities.
Carry out design reviews and provide technical assurance across the team.
Contribute to the continued growth and development of the London office.
Requirements

Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Chartered Engineer (ICE) or working towards Chartership.
Strong consultancy background within highways engineering.
Extensive experience delivering local authority and development infrastructure schemes.
Excellent working knowledge of Section 278, Section 38, DMRB, Manual for Streets and relevant UK design standards.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with experience using highways design software.
Strong client-facing skills with previous experience leading projects and mentoring engineers.
Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to business development.
What's on Offer

Competitive salary of £60,000 - £75,000 depending on experience.
Annual bonus.
Hybrid working.
Pension and comprehensive benefits package.
Clear progression towards senior leadership.
Opportunity to help shape and grow an established highways team.
Varied workload across highways, active travel, public realm and infrastructure projects.
Collaborative working environment with genuine autonomy and responsibility.
If you're looking for an opportunity to take ownership of projects, develop client relationships and play a key role in the growth of a respected consultancy, I'd be keen to tell you more
