This is an excellent opportunity to join a national Town Planning consultancy who provide a wide range of expertise to both the public and private sectors. They are on the lookout for an experienced and ambitious Associate Director to lead and deliver on a range of high-profile projects for their Colchester offices.

Personal developmentDuties for the role of Associate Director include:
Lead and manage a portfolio of complex planning and development projects from inception through to delivery
Provide strategic planning advice to landowners, developers, housebuilders and other private and public-sector clients
Lead the preparation and submission of planning applications, appeals, representations and other planning documentation
Advise clients on planning strategy, development potential, planning policy and opportunities for land promotion
Manage relationships with local planning authorities, statutory consultees, stakeholders and other professional advisers
Prepare and present planning strategies, reports and recommendations to clients and project teams
Work collaboratively with architects, urban designers, environmental consultants, transport consultants, viability specialists and other members of multidisciplinary teamsSkills and experience for the role of Associate Director:
Degree within Town Planning or another related discipline that is RTPI accredited
Strong post qualification experience as a Town Planner within a UK consultancy
MRTPI chartered
A strong understanding of the UK planning system and current planning policy
Experience managing complex planning applications and/or strategic development projects
Experience advising clients on planning strategy and development opportunities
Strong commercial and business-development skills, with evidence of developing client relationships and winning work
Experience managing project teams and mentoring more junior colleagues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The confidence to engage with senior clients, planning officers, elected members and other stakeholders
