Associate Director – Surveying (Cardoe Martin)

Cardoe Martin, a leading provider of professional surveying services, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join a dynamic team. Reporting into the board, you will play a pivotal role. As an Associate Director of Surveying you will delivering exceptional surveying services to our clients across the UK to drive strategic growth and success.

Position: Associate Director – Surveying

Location: Remote with travel; Office attendance required once a week in Sheffield or London

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30.

Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum dependant on experience

Contract: Permanent

Position Overview:

As an Associate Director of Surveying, you will work with the senior team leading and managing our surveying department, with a focus on business development, customer service, project management, team leadership, technical expertise, client relations, financial management, and quality assurance. You will play a pivotal role in driving the success and growth of our surveying division while ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilise your expertise as a Chartered Building Surveyor to provide high-quality surveying services to clients.
Project Manage projects ranging in value from £50k to £5m+. Leading a professional team when necessary.
Support in the development and implementation of strategic plans for the surveying department, aligning with the organisation's overall goals and objectives.
Support in the management of budgets, financial forecasts, and profitability targets for the surveying department, ensuring that financial objectives are met or exceeded.
Engage directly with clients, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.
Offer technical expertise and guidance on complex surveying issues, including property valuation, building inspections, land use planning, and regulatory compliance.
Demonstrate strong knowledge and experience in professional services such as Dilapidations, Expert Witness, Party Wall Awards, and ideally Fire Safety Projects in compliance with the Building Safety Act.
Possess Residential Sector experience and a commercial mindset to effectively manage projects in both sectors.
Lead and mentor junior team members, providing guidance, support, and training as needed, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Generally, assist in company initiatives and lead where required, including business development, improvement of services, and CPD training. 

Requirements:

Chartered Building Surveyor status (MRICS or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience.
Strong understanding of professional service intricacies, including Dilapidations, Expert Witness Services, Part Wall Awards, and Cladding reinstatement projects.
Proven experience in strategic planning, business development, project management, team leadership, technical expertise, client relations, financial management, and quality assurance within the surveying industry.
Ability to work with clients effectively and productively, managing expectations when necessary, with a focus on customer care and building long term relationships.
Preferred experience in the residential property sector.
Commercial acumen with effective people management skills.
Willingness to travel and attend an office once a week in either Sheffield or London.How to Apply:
