Description:

Are you an industry-leading Planning professional with extensive experience delivering major UK infrastructure programmes?

Have you developed and implemented sophisticated planning, delay analysis and programme controls solutions within complex project environments?

Job title: Associate Director – Planning & Delay Analysis
Salary: Up to £120,000 + performance-related bonus of up to 15%

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate Director-level Planning professional to join a leading organisation supporting some of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes.

This is a senior appointment aimed at someone recognised as a genuine expert within planning and programme controls. You will provide leadership across complex programmes, develop high-performing planning capability and bring a strong understanding of delay analysis and programme performance.

This role requires an established senior planning professional with a strong reputation within major infrastructure.

You are likely to be operating at Associate Director, Head of Planning or equivalent level and will combine deep technical planning knowledge with the leadership and commercial awareness required to influence major programmes.

Essential requirements

Extensive experience within Planning, Programme Controls or Project Controls on major infrastructure programmes.
Strong Primavera P6 knowledge and extensive experience working with complex integrated programmes.
Significant experience analysing programme performance, delays and schedule impacts.
Strong technical understanding of delay analysis and the ability to develop appropriate methodologies rather than simply applying standard processes.
Demonstrable experience leading and developing teams of planning professionals.
Experience working across complex, multi-billion-pound infrastructure environments.
Strong understanding of schedule management, change, risk and wider Project Controls disciplines.
Ability to interrogate complex programmes and identify critical issues, dependencies and delivery risks.
Experience developing mitigation, recovery and programme improvement strategies.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the credibility to influence senior project and business leaders.
A track record of improving planning performance, processes or capability within major programmes.
Nice to have

Experience working on major UK rail, highways, nuclear, energy or other nationally significant infrastructure programmes.
Experience gained within a leading consultancy or major contractor environment.
Previous experience at Associate Director or equivalent senior leadership level.
Experience building or expanding planning teams and capability.
Detailed knowledge of forensic planning and delay analysis techniques.
Experience supporting projects through different stages of the infrastructure lifecycle.
This is not a standard senior planning position. The organisation is looking for someone who can bring genuine expertise, credibility and leadership to its planning capability.

You will have the opportunity to influence how planning and delay analysis are delivered across some of the UK's most complex infrastructure environments, while leading and developing other planning professionals.

If you are an established Planning or Programme Controls leader looking for an opportunity where your technical expertise and industry experience can have a significant impact, please get in touch to discuss the position confidentially ()
