Description:

We are looking for an Associate Civil Engineer to join our clients growing team in Nottingham, playing a key role in the delivery of a diverse range of civil engineering projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil engineer looking to take the next step in their career, with responsibility for managing projects, developing technical solutions, supporting clients and helping to develop the wider engineering team.

Working across a variety of sectors, you will have the opportunity to contribute to projects from initial concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction, while our client will put a plan in place for the successful candidate to progress into a Director position in the business within the next 12 months.

Key responsibilities

Lead and manage the civil engineering design and delivery of projects.
Develop and review technical designs, calculations, specifications and drawings.
Manage project programmes, resources, budgets and deliverables.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
Liaise with clients and other project stakeholders, developing strong and lasting relationships.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure effective project delivery.
Attend meetings, site visits and inspections as required.
Prepare and review technical reports, specifications and other project documentation.
Support business development activities, including fee proposals, tenders and client presentations.
Assist with the growth and development of the civil engineering team.
Ensure projects are delivered to a high technical, quality and commercial standard.
Maintain a strong understanding of relevant standards, legislation and industry best practice.

About you

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with excellent communication and project management skills.

You will ideally have:

A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Significant experience working within a civil engineering consultancy.
Experience delivering civil engineering projects from concept through to construction.
Strong technical knowledge across areas such as highways, drainage, infrastructure and earthworks.
Experience managing projects, including programme, budget and resource requirements.
The ability to confidently communicate with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in relevant design and engineering software.
