The Company

A well-established, multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Associate Architect to their growing London team.

Operating across the UK, the consultancy provides integrated design and technical services across sectors including education, residential, healthcare, commercial and defence. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Associate Architect who wants to combine project delivery with team leadership, client development and the future growth of an architectural department.

The Associate Architect Role

The successful Associate Architect will work closely with the Architectural Director, initially leading a varied portfolio of projects from inception through to completion.

The Associate Architect will take responsibility for design quality, project delivery, resource planning and client relationships, while progressively becoming more involved in the management and development of the London architectural team.

Projects typically range from £300k to £40m, giving the Associate Architect exposure to schemes of varying scale and complexity.

Key responsibilities will include:

Leading architectural projects through all RIBA stages

Managing and mentoring members of the architectural team

Preparing feasibility studies, design concepts and planning applications

Producing and reviewing technical information using Revit

Managing project resources, fees, forecasting and profitability

Attending client, design and site meetings

Supporting bids, fee proposals and tender submissions

Developing existing client relationships and generating new opportunities

Contributing to the continued growth of the London office

The Associate Architect

The successful Associate Architect will ideally have:

RIBA Part III qualification / ARB registration

Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience

Strong working knowledge of Revit and BIM

Thorough understanding of UK Building Regulations

Experience within education, residential, social housing or healthcare projects

Knowledge of NBS specifications

Previous responsibility for fee proposals and project financial management

Strong client-facing, networking and business development skills

Experience managing or mentoring architectural staff

Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance where required

In Return

The Associate Architect will receive a salary in the region of £65,000 - £75,000, alongside 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, pension, professional membership support, health cash plan, flexible working, funded social events and continued professional development.
