Are you an ambitious retail leader with a proven ability to drive sales, develop people and deliver strong commercial results?
We are looking for a confident and commercially focused Assistant Store Manager to join a specialist jewellery retailer in Manchester Arndale. This is an opportunity for an experienced retail professional who combines excellent selling skills with team leadership, operational awareness and a passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience.
The Opportunity
Partnering with the Store Manager, you will help shape the store's performance, lead the team on the shop floor and ensure the business operates efficiently and successfully.
You will play an active role in driving sales, analysing performance and developing a team that understands how to engage customers, recommend products and maximise revenue. This is a hands-on management position for someone who leads by example, takes ownership of results and knows how to turn commercial opportunities into measurable success.
Key Responsibilities
Drive store sales and support the achievement of commercial targets and business objectives.
Lead from the front, demonstrating excellent selling behaviours and a proactive approach to customer engagement.
Analyse key performance indicators, including conversion, average transaction value and units per transaction, to identify opportunities for growth.
Coach, motivate and develop team members to improve individual performance and overall results.
Ensure customers receive knowledgeable, personalised service that encourages loyalty and repeat visits.
Support recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing performance development.
Oversee daily retail operations, including stock control, replenishment, deliveries and online orders.
Maintain high standards across visual merchandising, store presentation and customer service.
Support promotional activity and commercial initiatives to increase sales and customer engagement.
Deputise for the Store Manager when required, taking responsibility for team leadership and operational priorities.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience as an Assistant Store Manager, Deputy Manager or an experienced Supervisor ready to progress.
A proven track record of achieving sales targets and delivering strong commercial performance.
The ability to inspire a team, set clear expectations and coach others to improve.
Strong understanding of retail KPIs and how to use performance data to drive results.
Excellent selling, communication and customer relationship skills.
A hands-on approach to leadership, with the confidence to make decisions and take ownership.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance commercial and operational responsibilities.
Experience in jewellery, accessories, fashion or premium lifestyle retail would be beneficial.
