Description:

Assistant Site Manager - New Timber Frame Housing Development

We're recruiting for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join a well-established, five-star PLC housebuilder on a new residential development of approximately 80 timber frame homes, set within a larger scheme on the outskirts of a West Sussex market town.

The development will feature a mixture of private-sale and housing association homes, including detached, semi-detached and terraced properties. With different house types, specifications and build stages to manage, there will be plenty of variety as construction gets underway.

Working alongside an experienced, award-winning Senior Site Manager, you'll be joining the development right at the beginning. Rather than stepping into a site that's already well underway, you'll have the opportunity to help establish standards, take ownership of your areas of the build and see the development progress from the ground up through to completion.

The Role

Support the Senior Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the development, keeping construction progressing safely and to programme.
Coordinate subcontractors, trades and materials across different stages of the build.
Oversee timber frame construction, ensuring build sequences, inspections and quality checks are properly managed.
Maintain high standards of workmanship in line with NHBC requirements, identifying and resolving issues before they affect progress.
Take responsibility for allocated plots, monitoring progress and ensuring work is completed to the required standard.
Maintain strong health & safety standards and good site organisation.
Support the delivery of both private-sale and housing association properties, ensuring the different specifications and requirements are met.

What We're Looking For

An experienced Assistant Site Manager with several years of proven experience working within residential housebuilding. This isn't a trainee or entry-level position; we're looking for someone who understands the role and can contribute from the outset.
Ideally, a background working directly for a PLC or established volume housebuilder.
Good knowledge of timber frame construction, residential build processes and NHBC standards.
Experience managing subcontractors, coordinating trades and overseeing plots through different stages of construction.
Someone who is comfortable taking responsibility for their own areas of the site and working closely with the Senior Site Manager.
A good eye for build quality, strong organisation and the ability to plan ahead rather than simply react to issues.
SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.

What's On Offer

Salary up to £55,000 + package.
A new timber frame development of approximately 80 homes.
The opportunity to join from the beginning and see the project through to completion.
A varied mix of private-sale and housing association properties.
The chance to work alongside an experienced, award-winning Senior Site Manager.
An established PLC housebuilder with a continued pipeline of residential developments across the region.

If you're an experienced Assistant Site Manager with a solid background in residential housebuilding and you're looking for a new development where you can take responsibility from the outset, I'd be interested in having a conversation.
