Description:

Assistant Site Manager

We're working with a well-established residential developer with a long-standing reputation for building quality homes at scale, with developments across the UK and a strong focus on maintaining consistent standards from the first plot through to handover.

They're looking for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join a 100-unit traditional build development that is already well underway, with around 18 months remaining on the programme.

You'll be reporting directly into an experienced Senior Site Manager, becoming an important part of the site team as the development moves through its next stages. This isn't an opportunity for someone looking to make their first move into housebuilding - we're specifically looking for an Assistant Site Manager with a proven residential housebuilding background who understands how a volume development needs to run.

The site is at a stage where there's plenty to get your teeth into, particularly around taking plots from the roofing stage through to completion. Experience with externals would also be useful, giving you the opportunity to broaden your exposure as the development progresses.

And there's a bigger picture here too. The site team have their sights set on achieving industry recognition for the quality of the development, so you'll be joining a team that takes pride in what they're producing and wants to be recognised for it.

The Role

You'll be working closely with the Senior Site Manager and taking ownership of your own areas of the development, helping keep plots moving while making sure standards don't slip as production increases.

You'll be involved in:

Managing and coordinating subcontractors across your allocated plots
Taking plots from roof stage through to completion and handover
Monitoring build quality and ensuring works are completed correctly first time
Coordinating trades to maintain momentum against the build programme
Supporting the delivery of external works where required
Preparing plots for NHBC inspections and ensuring required standards are consistently met
Identifying problems early and working with trades and the Senior Site Manager to resolve them
Maintaining strong health & safety standards across your area
Keeping your plots organised and ready for the next trade
Building good relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
Supporting the Senior Site Manager with programme planning and upcoming workloads
Helping create the kind of site environment where people take pride in the work they're putting their name to

What We're Looking For

This is specifically a residential housebuilding opportunity, so previous experience in the sector is essential.

You'll ideally have:

Proven experience as an Assistant Site Manager within residential housebuilding
Experience working for a PLC or volume housebuilder
Strong traditional build experience
Good knowledge of NHBC standards and inspection processes
Experience taking plots from roof through to completion
External works experience would be advantageous
The ability to confidently manage subcontractors and keep production moving
Good organisation and communication skills
A practical approach to solving problems on site
SMSTS, CSCS and First AidWe're looking for someone who already understands the rhythm of a residential site and can step in, take responsibility for their area and make a difference from day one.

What's On Offer

Up to £58,000 basic salary
Competitive package
Bonus
Opportunity to work alongside an experienced Senior Site Manager
Approximately 18 months remaining on the current development
Genuine opportunity to broaden your experience across the build
Clear scope for progression within the wider business
The chance to be part of a site team working towards industry recognition for the quality of the developmentIf you're an Assistant Site Manager with genuine housebuilding experience and you're looking for a role where you can take on more responsibility, develop your knowledge and be part of a site with ambitions beyond simply getting the plots over the line, this is worth a conversation.
