Assistant Site Manager – New Build Housing
Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire
Salary: Up to £50,000 + Package
Sector: Residential Construction / Housebuilding
Are you an experienced Assistant Site Manager looking for your next opportunity with an established housebuilder offering long-term career progression and continued professional development?
We are working on behalf of a well-established residential developer to recruit an Assistant Site Manager to join their team, working across developments throughout Shropshire and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Site Manager with previous experience in new-build housing who is looking to take the next step in their career within a growing business that values quality, teamwork and the development of its people.
Based around Shrewsbury, the role will involve working across multiple residential developments throughout Shropshire and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality new-build homes, ensuring site operations run smoothly and that build programmes, quality standards and health and safety requirements are consistently maintained.
With ongoing training, support and clear opportunities for career progression, this is an ideal position for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager looking to develop their skills and progress towards a Site Manager role.
The Role
As Assistant Site Manager, you will support the day-to-day management of residential developments, working closely with the Site Manager and wider construction team.
Your responsibilities will include:
*
Assisting with the day-to-day management of new-build housing developments.
*
Supporting the delivery of homes in line with agreed build programmes and quality standards.
*
Coordinating subcontractors and monitoring their performance on site.
*
Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed and maintained at all times.
*
Carrying out regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, quality and progress.
*
Helping manage materials, site resources and subcontractor schedules.
*
Identifying and resolving site issues to minimise delays and maintain productivity.
*
Ensuring plots are completed to the required specification and quality standards.
*
Supporting inspections, snagging and the handover of completed properties.
*
Maintaining accurate site records and communicating progress to the Site Manager.
*
Promoting a safe, organised and professional working environment across all developments.
About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have previous experience working as an Assistant Site Manager within the residential housebuilding sector.
You will have a good understanding of the new-build housing process, from groundworks through to completion and handover, alongside the ability to coordinate subcontractors and maintain high standards across site operations.
Ideally, you will have:
*
Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager with a housebuilder or residential construction contractor.
*
A strong understanding of traditional build and/or modern methods of residential construction.
*
Good knowledge of construction health and safety requirements.
*
The ability to monitor build programmes, quality and subcontractor performance.
*
Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
*
A proactive approach, with the confidence to take responsibility and support the wider site team.
*
A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel between developments across Shropshire and the surrounding areas.
*
Relevant construction qualifications, such as SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS and First Aid, would be advantageous.
Candidates must have previous Assistant Site Manager experience within housing. This is not an entry-level opportunity, and applicants without relevant residential experience are unlikely to be suitable.
What's on Offer?
*
Salary of up to £50,000, depending on experience.
*
An attractive additional package.
*
Continued training and professional development.
*
Clear opportunities for career progression towards Site Manager and more senior positions.
*
The opportunity to join an established residential developer.
*
Exposure to a range of residential developments across Shropshire and the surrounding areas.
*
The chance to build on your existing experience within a business that supports long-term career development.
