Fawkes & Reece are currently working with a highly regarded house builder who are looking for a long term experienced Assistant Site Manager to join a large residential development in Wigan.

The successful candidate will join a 160-unit timber frame development, working alongside an established site team to help drive the project forward and ensure homes are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Site Manager looking for an ongoing position with a respected house builder and the chance to become part of a busy and well-organised development.

About the Role

Reporting into the Site Manager, you will assist with the day-to-day management of the development, coordinating trades and subcontractors and ensuring construction activities continue to progress in line with the programme.

You will play an important role in maintaining high standards of quality, health & safety and productivity across the site.

Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting the Site Manager with the daily running and coordination of the site.
Supervising and coordinating subcontractors and trades.
Monitoring build progress and ensuring programme targets are achieved.
Checking workmanship and ensuring homes are constructed to the required specification.
Carrying out regular site inspections and quality checks.
Ensuring all site activities are undertaken safely and in accordance with company procedures.
Identifying and helping to resolve any issues that could impact programme or quality.
Supporting with inductions, toolbox talks and daily site briefings.
Monitoring site housekeeping and maintaining a safe and tidy working environment.
Working closely with the Site Manager, Contracts Manager and wider project team.
Ensuring works are completed in accordance with relevant building regulations and NHBC standards.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Site Manager with a strong background in residential new build construction.

Ideally, you will have:

Previous experience working for a house builder.
Experience working on timber frame developments.
A good understanding of residential construction methods and build sequencing.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
The ability to effectively coordinate and manage subcontractors.
A proactive approach with the confidence to identify and resolve issues on site.
A strong focus on quality, health & safety and programme delivery.
The ability to work effectively as part of an established site team.

Essential Requirements

All candidates must hold the following qualifications/cards, and these must be in date:

SSSTS or SMSTS
CSCS
First Aid
Recent reference from a new build housing role
