The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Site Manager to join a leading specialist contractor delivering large-scale external refurbishment, façade improvement, cladding remediation, and building safety projects across the UK.

Working alongside experienced construction professionals, you will support the Site Manager in the successful delivery of high-value projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Role

As Assistant Site Manager, you will support the day-to-day management of site operations, subcontractors, labour, materials, quality, and health & safety compliance. You will work closely with project, commercial, technical, and health & safety teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently while maintaining excellent client and stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager in the delivery of construction works to agreed programmes, budgets, and quality standards.
• Assist in coordinating labour, subcontractors, plant, and material resources across the project.
• Monitor progress on site and support programme delivery through effective planning and communication.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports, and project documentation.
• Assist with procurement activities and coordinate material deliveries to support project programmes.
• Work closely with commercial teams to monitor costs, subcontractor performance, and project budgets.
• Support the implementation of health, safety, environmental, and quality management procedures.
• Ensure Risk Assessments, Method Statements, COSHH assessments, and site documentation are maintained and communicated effectively.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, residents, stakeholders, and subcontractors to maintain positive project relationships.
• Support quality inspections, snagging activities, and project handovers.
• Attend site meetings and contribute to project reporting and planning activities.
• Promote a positive site culture focused on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience within a construction, façade, cladding, external refurbishment, or building envelope environment.
• Experience supporting the delivery of live construction projects.
• Understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and site operations.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced construction environment.
• Experience working with subcontractors and site teams.
• Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and general project administration systems.

Essential Qualifications

• CSCS Card
• Quality Control / Quality Assurance (QCQA) experience
• Relevant construction qualification or equivalent practical experience

Desirable Qualifications

• SSSTS or SMSTS
• NVQ in Construction Management or related discipline
• Experience with External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
