Linsco are delighted to be supporting our client, a leading residential housebuilder, in their search for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their regional commercial team based in Nottingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within the residential construction sector, working alongside an established commercial team with plenty of opportunity to gain experience, develop new skills and progress professionally.

The successful candidate will support the commercial team in managing and reporting on development expenditure, assisting with budgets, valuations and the commercial delivery of new and existing housing developments.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the commercial team with the management and reporting of development expenditure.
Assisting with commercial processes, budgets and cost control in line with company policies.
Building and maintaining relationships with subcontractors, housing associations and external partners.
Assisting with the agreement of site start programmes and commercial matters across new and existing developments.
Supporting the valuation process, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Attending site visits to current developments, new sites and potential future projects.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across commercial, technical and operational teams.The Ideal Candidate

A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a basic understanding of the discipline.
Some understanding of construction methods, build sequences and their financial implications.
Basic commercial and financial awareness, alongside an understanding of the construction industry.
An appreciation of commercial management systems, processes and cost controls.
Awareness of relevant construction legislation and standards, including Building Regulations, NHBC requirements and CDM Regulations.
Good attention to detail, organisation and communication skills.
A proactive approach with a genuine desire to learn, develop and progress within the business.What's on Offer?
