Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Description:

We are seeking a qualified and Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s growing rail team in Warwickshire. Our client, a well-established company, specialises in mechanical and electrical (M&E) works, civil engineering (Civils), and signalling and telecommunications (S&T) within the rail sector. This position is available as either a long-term contract or a permanent role, ideal for professionals looking to advance their commercial careers.
Successful applicants will reside in the UK and have right to work in the UK.
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be required to:
* Prepare estimates using a schedule of rates and price variations / technical queries to contracted works.
* Analyse cost reports and assist in producing final accounts.
* Negotiate and agree final accounts with client and compile cost-value reconciliations.
* Assess sub-contractor claims, attend site to take measurements and contribute to monthly commercial meetings.
* Assist with all change control processes and assist with tenders.
* The successful candidate will also comply with and promote the company safety policy.
Required Skills and Qualifications as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
* Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
* Good working knowledge of MS Office
* A good attitude to work and the desire to develop your skills
* Ability to work on your own initiative
