Assistant Quantity Surveyor
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Role will involve: taking off quantities from drawings for procurement/checking sub-contractor applications/ pricing variations, On Site measures, Placing sub-contracto & material orders, Issuing tender enquires, preparing monthly valautions, checking material invocies agaisnt purchase orders and general administration duties.

Assist the project QS's to ensure contracts are delivered within budgets and timescales ensuring profit margins are achieved. Utalise, Create & Develop systems and processes to allow effective measurement of commercial performance.
Provide accurate, real time monthly reports, final outcome forecasts and project cash flows to demonstrate commercial performance. Assist in the production of contractor's proposal documents, bids and other tender documents.
Carry out tender analysis, subcontractor and supplier procurement management and payment of subcontractor accounts. Source specialist goods and services as required by the business. Develop supply chain partnerships with key trades and contractors.
Provide efficient & effective communication to the operations team. Take the lead on small works contracts
Liaise with subcontractors regarding discrepancies and queries, and also in terms of managing their performance. Prepare and manage subcontract and supplier Procurement Schedules.
Identify commercial risks and opportunities and carry out value engineering exercises. Advise on programme/delay issues arising from change/variations and prepare claims for extensions of time.
Undertake general contract administration. Assist the project Qs's to prepare monthly account applications, forecasts of project cost to completion and final value. Prepare target costs, estimates and quotations as required.
Manage Commercial issues arising in connection with client changes. Produce & Prepare target costs, estimates and quotations as required for external clients.

The role of the assistant quantity surveyor is to assist and support the effective cost management and ensure projects are completed within budget. You will work on refurbishment, Alteration and new build contracts, often requiring major structural alterations to a high standard, working with clients to make the best use of their budgets.
