Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Central London
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + Package (DOE)
PSR Solutions are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a leading Tier 2 Main Contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across London and the South East.
Due to a strong pipeline of secured work, our client is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a flagship student accommodation development in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor and gain exposure to a landmark Central London project.
The Role
Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager, you will support the commercial delivery of the project from procurement through to final account.
Key responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the procurement and management of subcontract packages
Preparing and issuing subcontract documentation
Processing subcontractor applications and payments
Assisting with cost reporting, forecasting and budget control
Managing variations and change control procedures
Supporting the preparation of client valuations and applications for payment
Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks
Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation
Assisting with final accounts and project close-out activities
Requirements
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
Previous experience working for a Main Contractor in a Quantity Surveying role
Experience working on building projects within the residential, student accommodation, commercial, mixed-use or education sectors
Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures
Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across project teams
Ambitious and motivated with a desire to progress their career within a leading contractor environment
