Description:

Our client is a busy contractor, focussed in the affordabel housing sector.  They are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Stirling.

Working with an expereience commercial team, the successful candidate will assist with the management of all costs relating to building projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. This is a permanent position offering growth opportunities within the company.

Key Requirements of the Role 

- Assist in the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
- Perform risk, value management, and cost control.
- Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
- Assist in the identification, analysis, and development of responses to commercial risks.
- Provide assistance in procuring subcontractors, including issuing tender and contract documents.
- Measure and value the work done on site.
- Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers, and site engineers.
- Assist in the preparation of project final accounts.
- Monitor and keep track of project progress and be responsible for the measurement and valuation of variations in the work during the contract, for agreement of interim payments and the final account.
- Ensure that construction projects meet legal and quality standards.
- Provide advice on contractual claims.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Relevant professional qualifications (RICS or equivalent) are desirable.
- Strong numerical and financial management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of construction methods and materials.
- Proficiency in relevant software, such as MS Office Suite and Quantity Surveying software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of building regulations and health and safety standards.
