Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Romsey, Hampshire
Salary up to £35,000 + Car Allowance + Pension + Bonus + 25 Days Holiday
Blaymires Recruitment is representing the UK's leading fire safety and facade consultancy based near Romsey who is searching for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
The consultancy works closely with their clients to understand and manage cladding and internal combustibility risk, defects and remedial issues. They are presently overseeing the refurbishment of multiple facades on residential buildings and they work with a wide range of clients from social housing providers, landlords, private consortiums and management companies.
They are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the Senior Quantity Surveyor. You will gain experience working on major cladding upgrades and remedial projects to existing buildings. You will assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor who is responsible for inviting contractors to tender, placing orders, making payments, monitoring costs and preparing final accounts.
This role would suit a Junior Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor from a Consultancy or Main Contracting background. On offer is support and guidance toward Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
Requirements of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
* 12 months Quantity Surveying experience.
* Consultancy or Main Contracting background.
* Basic knowledge of building appropriate Scope of Works documents and Bills of Quantities.
* Basic experience of tender and subcontract account processes.
* Organised with financial and cost management skills.
* Understanding of JCT forms of contract
* Motivated and willing to learn.
* Driving licence.
