Description:

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location: Northwich

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Company

Our client is a growing principal contractor delivering large-scale food retail construction projects across the UK. Unlike many traditional main contractors, they self-deliver a significant proportion of their works, managing labour, procurement, and project delivery in-house. Their projects include full turnkey store developments for major food retail clients, providing exposure to all stages of the construction lifecycle.

Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support their commercial and operational teams.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or junior-level Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a fast-paced construction environment. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced commercial and operational staff, gaining hands-on exposure to both office-based and site-based activities.

The role offers a broad range of responsibilities and would suit someone who is eager to learn, adaptable, and looking for a long-term career opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with project cost monitoring and forecasting.
Support the procurement and buying of materials and subcontract services.
Coordinate material ordering and deliveries to site.
Assist with labour planning and resource allocation.
Attend site visits to monitor project progress and support delivery teams.
Help track project performance against budgets and programmes.
Support tendering activities and commercial reporting.
Assist with reviewing project costs and identifying areas for improvement.
Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, site teams, and senior management.
Provide general commercial and project support across multiple live projects.
