ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR - NEW BUILD HOUSING

Location - Warrington / North West

Salary/Package - £35,000 - £45,000 + Package

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is an established and growing North West housebuilder, delivering high-quality new homes and creating well-planned communities across the region.

With continued growth and a strong development pipeline, the business is expanding its commercial team and is now looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a growing housebuilder and gain exposure to major residential developments.

THE ROLE

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the commercial and development teams, supporting the financial and commercial management of new-build residential schemes.

Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting the commercial management of new-build housing developments
Assisting with budgets, cost plans, forecasts and financial reporting
Supporting the procurement of subcontractor and supplier packages
Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
Assisting with valuations, payments, variations and final accounts
Monitoring project expenditure against agreed budgets
Supporting CVR and cost reporting processes
Working closely with site, construction, procurement and commercial teams
Assisting with the management of subcontractor accounts
Identifying potential commercial risks and opportunities
Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation
Supporting the delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion
THE IDEAL CANDIDATEThe successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will have:

Previous experience within a Quantity Surveying or commercial role
New-build residential / housebuilding experience would be highly advantageous
Strong understanding of construction and residential development
Good commercial awareness and numerical ability
Experience with subcontract procurement and cost control
Good organisational and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Good Microsoft Excel and general IT skills
A relevant Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or construction qualification would be advantageous
A willingness to develop and progress within a housebuilding environmentPROJECTS

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support two major upcoming residential developments:

* 248-unit development in Swinton
* 152-unit development in Royton

Both schemes are scheduled to commence next year, with the business looking to recruit ahead of the projects starting.
