Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a leading infrastructure contractor working on a major, long-term project in Kent.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant QS looking to develop their commercial career while working alongside an experienced commercial team on a complex infrastructure programme.
The Role
Working closely with the Senior QS and Commercial Manager, you will support the commercial management and delivery of the project.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the preparation of applications for payment
Assisting with cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs
Supporting the management of change and variations
Assisting with subcontract procurement and administration
Monitoring project costs and financial performance
Assisting with commercial reporting and cost-to-complete reviews
Supporting the identification and management of commercial risk
Maintaining accurate commercial records
Working closely with the operational and commercial teams
Assisting with subcontractor payments and accounts
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience working within a contracting/commercial environment
A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
Some experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, construction or a related sector
Good understanding of commercial processes
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A willingness to learn and progress within a commercial teamThis is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant QS to gain exposure to a major, long-term infrastructure programme and progress their career within a highly experienced commercial function.
