Description:

Role Purpose 

Provide assistance for delivery of all cost, commercial and quantity surveying matters on designated projects from inception to completion.
To assist in the delivery of projects on budget in full accordance with Council and Service procedures.

Responsibilities 

Ensuring that plans are in place and continually up dated to achieve Service objectives and priorities..
Actively assist and take ownership for designated detailed project commercial reports and maintain up to date at all times.
Ensure that all project related risks and issues are identified to the Council.
To carry out the necessary professional duties to effectively manage and coordinate commercial and cost matters on projects designated as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
To contribute and implement professional quantity surveying practice and procedures within Capital Programme Works Service.
Assisting the Principal Quantity Surveyor on the relationship management of key partners, suppliers and other core third parties, as applicable.
Be active and responsible in compliance with Service procedures and professional practice development in Capital Programmes Projects to ensure the maintenance and improvement of knowledge and capabilities
Actively ensure that projects are procured in accordance with Council Standing Orders and OJEU Public Procurement requirements

Requirements 

Experience of working as a Assistant Quantity Surveyor on both minor and major projects, effectively managing and coordinating cost, commercial and quantity surveying matters in both internal and external project teams, clients, stakeholders, Contractors including quantity surveyor duties under various forms of contracts
Experience working in a housing association or council
Ability to fully access buildings/building sites/rough ground in order to carry out the role of the Delivery Manager
Must have a Driving licence and the use of a vehicle at all times
Experience in preparing feasibility estimates, budget costs, cost plans and approximate costs, tender documentation, contracts and ancillary documentation.

Contract 

Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend 
PAYE via Umbrella 
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
