The Company
A Tier 1 contractor has an immediate start for an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their busy commercial team. If you have just qualified, either at graduate or intermediate level, they will also consider you for this role. This an exciting opportunity to work on a large construction project at Shotton Paper Mill on a long-term basis.
The Role
* Monday-Friday – 7.30am to 5.00pm (potential for weekend work if available)
* Rate: £25 Per Hour – (Weekend Paid at Time/Half & Double Time)
* Reporting to a Lead Quantity Surveyor who is based on site
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the surveying function for one of the leading contractors on site. Working on a very busy site office, you will be joining an existing team which is made up of a Project Manager, Site Manager, and Quantity Surveyor and an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. You will be assisting the team carrying out the duties below:
* You will be carrying out basic commercial reporting
* Completing daily site reports for the contractor
* Site audits
* Daywork checks
About You
Ideally you will have a minimum of 6 months experience as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, Intermediate Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor. Main Contracting experience is preferred, but they will also consider candidates with other sector experience.
* Relevant commercial degree HNC/HND – Not Essential
* CSCS Card – Essential
* Some experience in NEC4 Option B and Early Warning Processes
* Adequate experience as an Assistant QS.
* Excellent communication – both verbal and written.
* ‘Can do’ Attitude
* Self-Motivated and effective use of Initiative
