Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Description:

We are working alongside a Main Contractor specialising in construction projects across the East Riding of Yorkshire. They are currently on the search for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team. The successful candidate will support their Commercial department in managing costs and ensuring the financial success of our projects throughout the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
Conduct cost analysis and estimation for materials, labour, and equipment.
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate budgeting and cost control.
Assist in the evaluation of subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Monitor and track project costs, variations, and progress payments.
Assist in the preparation of interim valuations and final accounts.
Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on cost-related matters.
Support the Commercial team in resolving contractual and commercial issues.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost management processes and procedures.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quantity surveying activities.Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry is desirable but not essential.
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quantity surveying software.
Knowledge of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
