ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR
Central London
Salary: Up to £45,000 + Car Allowance
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier One Main Contractor, working on a major residential development in Central London.
This is a large-scale, high-value residential project involving complex construction and refurbishment works, providing an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to gain valuable experience working alongside an established Commercial team.
THE ROLE
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, supporting the commercial management of the project and gaining exposure to all aspects of the commercial function.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their experience within a Tier One Main Contractor and progress their career within a supportive commercial environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor with the commercial management of the project
• Assisting with subcontract procurement and account management
• Assisting with cost reporting and forecasting
• Supporting the management of variations and commercial change
• Assisting with valuations and payment processes
• Supporting subcontractor management and final accounts
• Monitoring costs and commercial performance
• Assisting with commercial risk and opportunity management

REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with some Main Contractor experience and a genuine desire to develop their career within the commercial side of construction.
Ideally, you will have:
• Experience working for a Main Contractor
• Experience within residential construction is advantageous
• A relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or working towards one
• Some experience with subcontractor management and procurement
• An understanding of cost control and commercial management
