ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR / COMMERCIAL ASSISTANT REQUIRED ????
???? Location: Manchester
⏰ Start Time: 8:30am
???? Duration: 3 Months (with potential extension subject to workload)
???? £17.79 per hour PAYE
???? £20.83 per hour Umbrella
???? Equivalent to approximately £37,000 per annum
We are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Assistant to support a busy commercial team on a long-term project.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Preparing and submitting periodic payment applications (2 per period)
✅ Reviewing supporting evidence and ensuring submissions are accurate and complete
✅ Creating and checking hyperlinks and supporting attachments prior to submission
✅ Carrying out reconciliations and assisting with reducing WIP
✅ Converting completed works into "Applied For" values through payment applications
✅ Reviewing material costs and ensuring they are captured and claimed correctly
✅ Working closely with Operations teams to resolve commercial issues
✅ Assisting with Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Compensation Events through CEMAR
✅ Supporting procurement activities
✅ Producing contract documentation
✅ Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers
✅ Raising purchase orders and material requisitions
✅ General commercial and administrative support duties
Essential Skills:
✅ Strong commercial awareness
✅ Excellent attention to detail
✅ Confident communicator
✅ Self-motivated and able to work independently
✅ Good understanding of payment applications and commercial processes
✅ Advanced Excel skills including:
* XLOOKUPs
* Pivot Tables
* Data analysis and reporting
Desirable:
✅ BSc Quantity Surveying or MSc Quantity Surveying
✅ Facilities Management (FM) experience
✅ Experience using CEMAR
