Description:
A growing construction consultancy in London is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join its established team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager with a couple of years' consultancy experience to work across commercial, education, and heritage projects while receiving excellent support towards chartership.
The Assistant Project Manager will support senior colleagues throughout the full project lifecycle while gradually taking greater responsibility for their own work. This Assistant Project Manager role would suit an ambitious Assistant Project Manager who wants varied project exposure and a structured route towards becoming a Project Manager. The successful Assistant Project Manager will join a supportive consultancy that places a strong emphasis on professional development and APC support.
You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.
The Assistant Project Manager's role
The Assistant Project Manager will support the delivery of commercial, education, and heritage projects across London.
The Assistant Project Manager will assist with programme management, procurement, consultant coordination, contract administration, risk management, project reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
The Assistant Project Manager will attend client and site meetings, coordinate project actions, maintain documentation, and work closely with multidisciplinary consultant teams and contractors. As their experience develops, they will be given increasing responsibility and the opportunity to take greater ownership of smaller projects and individual workstreams.
The Assistant Project Manager
The successful Assistant Project Manager will have:
Around two years' experience within a construction consultancy
Experience supporting commercial, education, heritage, or similar construction projects
A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
Working towards MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or another relevant professional qualification
An understanding of JCT contracts and construction project delivery
Strong communication and organisational skills
Confidence working with clients, consultants, and contractors
A proactive approach and ambition to progress to Project Manager
