Company Introduction

Our client is a multi-disciplinary contractor with approximately 70 employees and an annual turn over £18 million in the year ending 31 May 2023. The business is made up of a FM & Small Works Team, M&E Team and a Projects delivery team.

Projects have historically made up the 50% of revenue but with recent successes, the segment is making up a greater proportion of the Company’s revenue.

They are people orientated business with colleagues who have worked with them for over 20 years, maintaining the collaborative and positive culture that these long-term relationships bring.  

Role

The Assistant Project Manager will report directly to the Contracts Manager and support the project delivery team with various types of projects. Ongoing training, the project delivery team will provide support.

Responsibilities

Understanding what the client needs required to achieve delivery of the required project.

Achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.

Agreeing timescales, costs and resources that are needed to deliver a project.

Drawing up a detailed plan/Programme for how to achieve each stage of a project.

Directing and supporting a multi-disciplinary work force ensuring Health & Safety practices and CDM regulations are always adhered to.

Attending regular site meetings and communicating with the client and design teams.

Supporting the project delivery team with operational and commercial matters ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Producing programme of works for projects and ensuring timelines are met.

Resolving and dealing with daily issues on a project.

Contribute towards producing valuations and final accounts with assistance from the project delivery team.

Assist the team with estimating small projects.

Procurement of new suppliers, sub-contractors.

Preparation of regular reports on progress, profit & loss reports and programmes.

Demonstrating knowledge of all areas of construction

Managing several projects simultaneously with the support of site managers and site teams

Preparing work for the site delivery team on weekly basis.

Assisting with estimating costs/ and establishing trades and sub-contractors involved

Managing and monitoring subcontractors’ performance and progress

Developing deliverable schedules as a roadmap for the construction team

Regular visits to site in case there is a need to deal with or supervise delivery tasks.

Reviewing the project in depth to determine if everything is done according to the plan.

Escalating any issues or items in a timely manner.

Recording and storing of all project information on the shared file system.

Requirements

Construction related qualification.

SMSTS (Desirable)

First Aid (Desirable)

Good understanding of the latest H&S legislation.

Good communication skills.

Well organised and able to prioritise tasks.

Must be driven and keen to progress their career and keep up to date with practices.

Good IT & Numeracy skills.

Full UK Driving License (Essential)
