Assistant Project Manager - Airport Redevelopment
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Assistant Project Manager to support the oversight and execution of a major redevelopment program at Birmingham Airport. This is a multi-year capital project involving the renovation of existing terminals and construction of new facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Project Manager in developing detailed project plans, schedules, budgets and resource allocations
Monitor project milestones and track deliverables to ensure work streams stay on schedule and within budget
Conduct routine project status meetings and prepare reports for stakeholders
Identify potential risks or issues and develop contingency plans
Manage and track budgets, contracts, purchase orders and invoices
Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors and airport operations to coordinate construction activities
Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations and airport policies/procedures
Support procurement processes for soliciting bids and selecting vendors
Maintain meticulous project documentation and record keepingQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business or related field
Minimum 3 years of project management experience, preferably in construction or airport environments
Excellent organisational, multitasking and time management skills
Strong budget management and financial analysis abilities
Proficient with project management software and tools (e.g. MS Project, AutoCAD)
Effective communicator with ability to build relationships across teams
Problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
PMP certification is a strong plus
