Annual Salary: Leadership Scale L10 - L15 inner London

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Start date: September 2024

Aston Education is working with a popular and growing 11-18 secondary academy in Southwark, Southeast London (inner London), looking for a permanent Assistant Principal to lead on Teaching and Learning.

As an Assistant Principal / Assistant Headteacher, you will be responsible for ensuring that lessons provide pupils with a strong educational experience, through the delivery of high quality, consistently delivered learning experiences.

The Assistant Principal will support in developing a culture of continuous improvement by ensuring professional learning supports teachers to develop their teaching. You will have an oversight of the provision for ECTs. 

You might have a background in curriculum, pedagogical development or assessment.

You have:

Qualified teacher status (QTS)
B.Ed. or degree with PGCE or similar qualification
Successful completion of course such as NPQSL, NPQML
Background in curriculum, pedagogical development or assessment
Experience in working across the 11-18 ability range
Proven experience in a middle leadership role
Awareness of national policy and process – e.g. National Curriculum or Specifications at KS4 and KS5
Evidence of improving teaching and learning through previous roles
Evidence of the ability to plan strategically, translating school wide initiatives into practice
The school has state-of-the-art facilities and excellent transport links. The school has not been inspected by Ofsted yet.
