Description:

Our client is a leading Main Contractor specialising in commercial construction projects across the Sheffield region, delivering high-quality projects. They are currently on the search for an Assistant Planner, who is driven and keen to develop themselves further in a company that is able to deliver that scope.

Position Overview: As an Assistant Planner, you will play a crucial role in supporting the planning and scheduling activities for commercial projects throughout Sheffield and the surrounding areas. Working closely with the project management team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules using industry-standard software such as Primavera P6, AstaPower or Microsoft Project.
Collaborate with project managers and site teams to gather project data and updates, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Conduct analysis and evaluation of project schedules to identify potential risks and opportunities for optimisation.
Support in the preparation of progress reports, variance analysis, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in the coordination of resources, materials, and equipment to meet project requirements.
Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on scheduling, sequencing, and resource allocation.
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to construction planning and scheduling.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes and procedures to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Previous experience in construction planning or scheduling preferred.
Proficiency in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data effectively.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
