Description:
Assistant Planner
Job Purpose: Assist DNO Lead Planners and delivery teams by updating P6 schedules and collecting progress data in line with monthly reporting schedules. Flexibly allocate efforts across portfolios as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Learn and enhance skills in Primavera P6 for managing major projects independently.
Maintain Primavera P6 schedules in alignment with approved UK Power Networks guidelines.
Ensure data integrity in P6 and Oracle Primavera Cloud through regular checks and corrections.
Provide accurate program data for project control requirements, including supporting Earned Value Management reporting.
Update schedules according to the Capital Programme performance reporting timetable.
Collaborate with other planners to assess schedule impacts of proposed changes and integrate approved changes into baseline updates.
Assist in overseeing progressing programs and conducting schedule risk analysis when necessary.
Work with project partners to ensure timely submission of progress updates.
Ensure compliance with project delivery and program governance procedures.
Flag any schedule anomalies or errors to relevant parties.
Coordinate schedule interfaces between control areas and commercial teams.
Ensure alignment of cost information across systems and reports.
Collaborate with finance teams for monitoring project and program information.Qualifications:
Preferably hold a foundation level qualification in project management/control (e.g., APM or Prince2).Experience:
Knowledge of work scheduling for construction projects, experience with Primavera P6 or similar software preferred.
Understanding of Earned Value Management principles.
Experience working in teams with regular updates and data entry.
Familiarity with database and data organisation principles.
Strong communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in standard office software.Nature and Scope:
Manage project data entry, cost loading, and progress updates across Capital Programme portfolios.
Provide data entry support to P6 Planner workforce.
Pursue professional development in project planning, management, and controls, including Earned Value Management
