Professional developmentDuties for the role of Assistant Planner include:
Supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications and related documentation
Undertaking planning research and reviewing national, regional and local planning policy
Assisting with site appraisals, planning assessments and development proposals
Preparing reports, presentations, briefing notes and other client-facing materials
Monitoring planning applications, appeals and other planning processes
Supporting senior colleagues with project management and client instructionsSkills and experience for the role of Assistant Planner:
A relevant degree and/or postgraduate qualification in Planning or a related subject
Some relevant planning experience, whether gained within consultancy, local government or another relevant environment
An understanding of the UK planning system and current planning policy
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent research and analytical abilities
Good attention to detail and organisational skills
The ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
Confidence working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
A proactive approach and willingness to take responsibility
