Description:
Blue Arrow are looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to join one of our Public Sector clients. This position is hybrid, travel to Lochgilphead and Helensburgh will be required. 35hrs per week @ £28.22 per hour. This is a temporary assignment for 10 weeks.
Please only apply if you are available to work full-time hours and you are available to start immediately. You must have a driver's license and own car to be able to travel to work locations.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Assisting with the development of service plans and continuous improvement action plans
* Contingency planning about areas of responsibility including out of hours standby arrangements and Area Emergency Response Teams
* Working within the corporate framework to build joint public service arrangements with other partners
* Promoting income enhancement and developing opportunities to increase income
* Ensure the effective day-to-day management of all aspects of operational services within the designated area including recruitment, training, and staff development, and that safe systems of work are used at all times
* Ensure compliance with Legal and Statutory requirements including Health and Safety at Work and associated legislation
* Ensure consistency in service delivery throughout the area including continuous improvement in the performance of the service and that any change to processes and procedures is rolled out effectively
* Ensure the effective use of the Information/Control Hub
* Ensure resources are allocated and programmed to provide the best value
* Ensure road works comply with the Roads Asset Management and Maintenance Plan
* Budget forecasts as part of the Annual Budget Process
* Reviewing actual expenditure against budget including analysis of details of spend
* Providing the Operations Manager with regular reports
* Liaison with HR
* Recruitment, interviews
* Disciplinaries, Grievances, and general employee relations issues
* Manage the timely delivery of the annual PRD process and associated training requirements
* Assist in the department's performance management/review process ensuring compliance with performance standards, particularly consistency of approach between areas and that Works meet required standards
* Assist in ensuring that appropriate quality, performance, and benchmarking criteria are utilised or developed, and applied, with respect to Best Value and Continuous Improvement
* Monitoring, preparation, and timely submission of reports
