Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield
Salary: circa £35k plus benefits package
My client is a leading player in the logistics and supply chain business providing asset and leasing finance solutions.
The Role:
Do you have management accounting experience and want to progress their career with study support?
The Assistant Management Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the fixed asset register and ensure it reconciles with the general ledger and fleet tracking system. They will liaise regularly with operational colleagues to ensure consistency and accuracy across these three systems. They will be involved with producing monthly management accounts, annual budgets, periodic forecasts and year-end accounts / audits. They will also be involved with preparing accurate inter company statements for intra-group asset transfers.
Key Responsibilities
• Fixed asset / GL / Fleet Tracking reconciliations
• Preparation of depreciation and asset disposal journals
• Fixed asset balance sheet reconciliations
• Data analysis
• Intra-group recharges and collating supporting evidence
• Variance analysis and commentary
• Month-end accounting
• Supporting year end audits
• Development of monthly management information
Ideal Candidate:
• AAT / CIMA / ACCA part-qualified
• Ideally experience in fixed assets accounting
• Experience in management and financial accounting
• Excellent Excel skills
• Analytical mindset, with an excellent attention to detail
• Self-motivated individual
• Confident in communicating financial information to non-finance colleagues
• Able to build and maintain cross-functional relationships, developing trust and credibility across the business
• Flexible approach and ability to work under pressure
