Role Overview: As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting various functions within the Finance department across multiple group companies. This hands-on role requires a versatile individual with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting weekly bank postings and reconciliations using Sage.
Month-end reconciliation of the purchase ledger, including balancing to supplier statements.
Handling manual sales invoicing as needed.
Reconciling sub-contracting postings on the haulage system on a monthly basis.
Preparing reports to Trial Balance stage monthly for review by the Group FC.
Processing journals and reconciling key nominal accounts.
Providing support during company audits and year-end reporting.
Maintaining and updating the fixed asset register.
Assisting with payroll duties during staff absences.Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a commercial environment.
Strong Excel skills, including experience with Pivot tables and managing large datasets.
Previous experience with Sage 200 is essential.
Currently part-qualified with either CIMA or ACCA, with a commitment to further professional development.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
