Assistant Management Accountant (12 month FTC)

Role Purpose
The Assistant Management Accountant will provide accurate, timely and commercially focused finance support across the Wholesale business and Support Functions. Working as part of the Finance team, the role will support month-end activities, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, wholesale pricing and margin analysis, ensuring stakeholders receive clear insight to support effective decision-making and strong financial control.

Role & Responsibilities
• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring outputs are accurate, complete and delivered in line with agreed deadlines.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, reconciliations and variance analysis as required for Wholesale Sales and Support Functions including IT, HR and Amazon.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and adhoc financial reports, commentary and performance insight to support business reviews and management decision-making.
• Support forecasting and budgeting processes by preparing analysis, validating assumptions and highlighting key movements, risks and opportunities.
• Maintain wholesale pricing information, including pricing validation, margin impact analysis, pricing books and upload support.
• Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to resolve pricing, reporting and data queries in a timely manner.
• Review and validate financial and operational data, investigating discrepancies and recommending corrective action where appropriate.
• Provide ad hoc analysis, reporting packs and decision support to the Senior Finance Business Partner and wider Finance team.
• Contribute to process improvements that strengthen financial control, improve efficiency and enhance the quality of reporting.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Studying towards, or qualified in, CIMA, ACCA or an equivalent accounting qualification preferable.
• Experience in finance, accounting, commercial finance or analytical role.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including confidence working with large data sets and producing accurate analysis.
• Good understanding of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Strong analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to interpret financial information clearly.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Ability to build positive working relationships across Finance and wider business teams
