Assistant Headteacher / SENCO – SEND School
Are you a qualified SENCO ready to take the next step in your leadership career? Or are you an experienced Assistant Headteacher looking for a new challenge within a specialist SEND setting? This outstanding SEND school near Atherstone is seeking an ambitious and dedicated Assistant Headteacher / SENCO to join its senior leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the strategic leadership of a thriving specialist school that supports children and young people with a range of additional learning needs. Working closely with the Headteacher and senior leaders, you will lead and develop the school's SEND provision, ensuring every pupil receives the personalised support they need to achieve exceptional outcomes.

As Assistant Headteacher / SENCO, you will oversee EHCP provision, lead on SEND strategy, support teaching and learning across the school and contribute to whole-school improvement. The Role:

Lead and manage SEND provision across the school
Work as part of the senior leadership team to drive school improvement
Oversee EHCP implementation, annual reviews and statutory processes
Support teachers to deliver outstanding, inclusive classroom practice
Monitor pupil progress and ensure personalised learning pathways are effective
Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for pupils
Lead staff training and contribute to professional development across the school
Promote a culture of inclusion, safeguarding and high expectationsThe Successful Candidate Will Have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
The National Award for SEN Coordination (or equivalent recognised SENCO qualification)
Significant experience working within a SEND setting
Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCPs and inclusive practice
Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills
A passion for improving outcomes for children with additional needs
Previous Assistant Headteacher experience is desirable but not essentialIn Return You Will Receive:
