Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting a Utilities Specialist on behalf of Network Rail.
The Opportunity
Network Rail are looking for a Utilities Specialist to help advise them on how to minimise utilities cost, and carbon emissions, in line with their goal to create a net-zero railway by 2045.
This will be achieved predominantly by looking at energy usage data for Eastern Regions property portfolio, and identifying areas where there is leakage. For example, there may be unused buildings that simply need to be decommissioned, or there may be tenants that that are inadvertently receiving free power. There could also be cases of excessive usage across the network. Your job will be to advise internal stakeholders and liaise with outside parties such as utilities providers to resolve these issues.

Role and Responsibilities:
Investigate billing and supplies issues and be comfortable consulting with internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate levels of supplies and to reduce costs.
Identify obsolete and unused electrical meters and arrange their decommission.
Maintain accurate records in the utilities database.
The Candidate
This is a dynamic role, involving plenty of customer to customer contact, meaning the ideal candidate will hold strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable with liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Essentials
1-2 years’ experience working in Utilities-based business, in an administrative/data-based role.
Strong analytical skills, and experience working with spreadsheets /databases.
Excellent communications skills.
Strong IT skills.
Educated to HNC/HND level or have relevant experience within the field.
Desirable
Educated to degree level
