Job Title: Junior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

Salary: Up to £37,500 + Package

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. Working closely with the Managing Director, you will play an important role in the preparation of competitive tenders, commercial administration, and supporting the financial management of live construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in estimating and quantity surveying across a diverse range of construction sectors, including domestic, industrial, and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating

Prepare and compile tender submissions under the supervision of the Managing Director.
Complete quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
Issue enquiries to material suppliers and subcontractors.
Review, compare, and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Assist in the preparation of competitive tender pricing and documentation for adjudication prior to submission.
Work on projects across a variety of sectors, including domestic, industrial, and commercial construction.

Quantity Surveying & Commercial Support

Assist with the preparation of monthly valuations for live projects.
Monitor, record, and assist in the recovery of variation costs.
Support the commercial management of projects as required.

Administration

Process payment schedules.
Process incoming supplier invoices.
Prepare and issue client invoices.
Provide general administrative support to the Managing Director and wider business as required.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Desirable

Previous experience in estimating, quantity surveying, or the construction industry.
Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or currently working towards one).
Familiarity with construction drawings and tender documentation.
