Are you a commercially minded individual with experience in construction, manufacturing, procurement or a related industry, looking for an opportunity to develop your career?

We are recruiting for an ambitious and forward-thinking company within the joinery sector that is looking to appoint a Joinery Estimator to join its team in Rugby.

Previous estimating or joinery experience is not essential. The company is particularly interested in candidates with a relevant degree, a good understanding of the construction industry and the ambition to develop into a more senior commercial role.

The Role

Working closely with the commercial and operational teams, you will help prepare accurate and competitive estimates for bespoke joinery projects.

The company is investing in AI-powered estimating technology, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who is confident using modern IT systems and interested in how artificial intelligence can improve commercial processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Reviewing drawings, specifications and project requirements.

* Assisting with the preparation of estimates, quotations and tender submissions.

* Analysing material, manufacturing, labour and installation costs.

* Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.

* Working closely with commercial, procurement and project delivery teams.

* Using AI-enabled software and digital estimating tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.

* Developing an understanding of joinery manufacturing, supply and installation processes.

* Supporting the commercial team in identifying cost efficiencies and opportunities.

About You

We are not necessarily looking for an experienced Estimator. More importantly, we are seeking someone with strong commercial awareness, excellent IT skills and the potential to develop.

Ideally, you will have:

* A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering or another relevant discipline.

* At least two years' experience working within construction, manufacturing or a related industry.

* Experience in one or more of the following areas:

* Procurement or purchasing

* Quantity surveying

* Commercial management

* Construction project coordination

* Manufacturing or production

* Supply and installation

* Joinery or interior fit-out

* Estimating or cost management

* Strong IT skills, with an interest in or practical experience of AI software and digital tools.

* Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* Excellent communication and organisational skills.

* A proactive attitude and genuine ambition to progress.

Experience in joinery or estimating would be advantageous, but is certainly not essential.
