Jackson Hogg are delighted to be partnering with a leading hire business in the appointment of an Assistant Depot Manager based in Nairn.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations, depot, transport or customer service professional looking to join a growing business where service excellence, operational performance and employee wellbeing are at the heart of everything they do.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the depot, ensuring the highest standards of customer service, fleet management and operational efficiency are consistently achieved.
The Opportunity
As Assistant Depot Manager, you will support the leadership of the depot operation, helping to drive performance across service delivery, transport coordination, asset management and team development.
Working closely with depot staff, drivers and customers, you'll ensure the business continues to deliver exceptional service while maintaining high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure all equipment and accessories are inspected upon return to the depot and are processed in line with operational procedures.
* Maximise recovery of costs and revenue relating to loss, theft or damaged equipment.
* Coordinate drivers, vehicles and transport activities to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
* Manage customer queries, complaints and service issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
* Support the successful completion of site repairs through effective planning, resource allocation and issue management.
* Oversee hire fleet, stock equipment and fixed assets, ensuring all compliance checks are completed.
* Support the management of depot standards and drive continuous operational improvement.
* Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and support to depot employees.
* Monitor performance against key operational and customer service KPIs.
* Promote a positive culture that supports employee wellbeing, engagement and development.
About You

* Previous experience in a supervisory, team leader, depot management or operations management role.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Experience driving operational excellence and improving performance against KPIs.
* A customer-focused approach and the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Strong IT literacy and confidence using business systems.
* Experience within the hire or rental industry.
