Assistant Controls Accountant

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Temporary Assistant Controls Accountant to join one of our large, well-established automotive clients based within Milton Keynes.

The successful candidate will support the implementation and monitoring of internal controls, assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in accounting and an understanding of internal controls and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Internal Controls:
Assist in the documentation, testing, and evaluation of internal controls over financial reporting.
Support the development and implementation of control procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Identify weaknesses in internal controls and recommend improvements.

Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Help in the reconciliation of accounts and the resolution of discrepancies.

Compliance and Audit:
Aid in the preparation for internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices in accounting and finance.
Assist in responding to audit findings and implementing corrective actions.

Data Analysis and Documentation:
Analyse financial data and prepare detailed reports for management.
Maintain and update accounting records and documentation.
Assist in special projects and ad hoc analysis as required.

Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with the Senior Controls Accountant and other team members to ensure cohesive and efficient operations.
Communicate effectively with various departments to gather information and provide support on financial and control matters.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance is preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
The working hours will be Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.
Paying £16.07 per hour.

This is long term, ongoing temporary assignment.
